On his social media platform, Truth Social, he outlined the importance of such measures: "If other Countries are allowed to use Tariffs against us, and we're not allowed to counter them, quickly and nimbly, with Tariffs against them, our Country doesn't have, even a small chance, of Economic survival."
Earlier, the president warned that the US economy would suffer a major setback if national courts struck down his administration's tariff measures.
In early May, Trump reaffirmed that the tariffs imposed by US authorities are unlikely to be rolled back anytime soon.
