2026.08.0307:08:30UTC+00Poland Manufacturing Downturn Eases in July

Poland’s S&P Global Manufacturing PMI rose to 49.0 in July 2026 from 46.1 in June, indicating a slower contraction in industrial activity. Both output and new orders continued to decline, but at a markedly reduced pace, while export orders registered their weakest fall since January. Employment increased for the first time since April 2025, as firms added capacity in anticipation of stronger future production, although overall hiring remained limited.

Purchasing activity fell for the third consecutive month, with manufacturers continuing to run down previously accumulated inventories of inputs. At the same time, supplier delivery delays eased to their lowest level since before the outbreak of the Middle East conflict.

Cost pressures also moderated. Input price inflation slowed to its weakest rate since February, and output price inflation eased to a four-month low. Business confidence improved from June’s 42‑month trough, supported by expectations of stronger demand, new projects, competitive pricing, and ongoing government and EU support programs.
